The Memorial Tournament in Dublin Ohio will be host to some great golfers going at it on the greens. Flipping through the channels today I stopped at the Golf Channel. They were showing some video of Tiger Woods at the Murifield Village on the practice range. Tiger Woods seems that hes shaking off the rust and getting his game on par for the upcoming tournament.
Tiger will be trying for his 4th win this year. I am sure he has shot at like ever body else however, Phil Mickelson is right on the heals of Tiger by being the number 2 golfer in the world. In the money standings they are very close for this year. They are only a few thousand dollars (maybe $50K to $60K) off from each other. Hell, what’s a couple of tens of thousands between friends. On the other hand, in the World Golf Rankings Tiger Woods is standing on the side of the Grand Canyon and Phil Mickelson (not to mention every other golfer) is on the trying to hit Mr. Wood with their best driver. It just ain’t going to happen.
So here are my predictions, Tiger Woods will be ahead by a lot the other guys will be dropping like flies on Sunday. Phil will end up third place cause he will boogie 5 of the 18 holes on Saturday then boogie 3 holes on Sunday. More than likely Tiger will see this tournament as great practice for the U.S. Open in two Weeks.
