Gary Players outs players for steriod use. According to Fox Sports, Gary Player put steroids at the forefront of the British Open on Wednesday, saying golf has its head buried in a bunker if it thinks the sport is clean and he knows of one player using performance-enhancing drugs.
Gary Player has asked golf organizations to start implementing random drug testing. While Player says he knows of at least one player who has confided in him about their use and another who has “told him something,” he says he can’t say who because he pinky swore and promised he would not. “I took an oath prior to him telling me — I won’t tell you where — but he told me what he did, and I could see this massive change in him,” Player said. “And somebody else told me something, that I also promised I wouldn’t tell, that verified others had done it.”
Okay - maybe he didn’t out anybody but he said that people where doing it. Why even say anything about people taking steroids if you’re not even going to testify to who did it and give us proof. I know some one has some proof they recored on sponsored free iphone.
Plus, I don’t see steroids making it to pro golf. Unless injecting human growth hormone into your veins gives you uncanny hand eye coordination and people wouldn’t notice that you went from a 200-yard drive to 700, I just don’t see it happening.
Tiger Woods, who last year said he would like to see the PGA Tour begin drug testing as quickly as possible, was asked Tuesday if he would be surprised if a golfer tested positive for drug use. Tiger already gets pumped when he makes a birdie. Can you imagine how amped he would be on steroids?
