By Tiger Woods choosing to sit out the playoff at the Barclays tournament players are not too happy to see the number one player in the world come back in the mix. Now being mentally and physically ready to play in the Deutsche Bank Championship Woods is on the prowl.
Even though his absence has put him behind Steve Stricker, KJ Choi, Rory Sabbitini in the FedEX Cup points standing s the number one player is the world is not too worried. “I (needed) a little break to get ready for the final three events because I think it gives me the best chance to challenge for the title,” Woods wrote in his monthly newsletter last week. Maybe Tiger felt he earned a break for winning his last two back to back events.
Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker, KJ Choi and Rory Sabbitini all have an excellent shot at the 10 million dollar purse and the FedEx Cup. It’s going to be a contest of who wants it more and who can pull out the best shots. On Friday Phil Mickelson has the best seat in the house since he will be paired with Tiger that day. With another 7 million dollar purse up for grabs it’s going to be another great event to in person or at home.
