The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sees the sport of golfing as a definite asset to the world of college sports and add golf as a sponsored sport. The SIAC will now sponsor 13 NCAA championship sports instead of 12. Okay… so you are wondering why this is a big deal look at this way. There are only five conferences out of twenty-five in the NCAA Division II that offers golf Men’s Golf. The SIAC makes the fifth Conference.
However, womens sport have kicked the guys butts in this area because fourteen out the twenty-five conferences have Womens Golf. ***Guys you need catch up*** Adding Men’s Golf is a great step in the right direction for the SIAC, HBCU’s who are in the conference and the sport of Golf.
