The Barclays begins today, Thursday, and there is $10 million dollars up for grabs. With Tiger Woods not competing this week the tournament is up for grabs and puts a person one step closer to the FedEx Cup and $10 million dollars. The Barclays start the closing of the season and it will be a killer beginning. On Sunday 24 players will be cut. Over the course of the next 3 week are another 70 players will be sent packing.

Singh, Furyk and Mickelson all have a good chance to pass Woods in the standings by finishing fifth or higher. It’s possible that Tiger Woods or Vijay Singh could capture the FedExCup without winning any of the last four tournaments.

Mathematically, everyone has a chance to win the $10 million prize. No matter who is in the finals over the next three weeks a $7 Million dollar purse will be split up among the remaining players. Leaving top players to battle it out at East Lake. The $10 million dollar prize will hopefully come down to the last round however we all have to wait and see what happens. The next four week are going to rough for 144 because 90 of them will be sent packing in 3 weeks.
